1973 Ford Mustang

1973 Ford Mustang

Purchase information such as VIN is long lost.

Bought non-running as a project car, I did actually get it running. Once. Originally in faded blue with white stripes, and an equally faded interior, and a lot of cancer. I bought a new hood and side fender for it at a junkyard; bright freaking yellow. That was awful looking on the car, but it would get painted…right?

It took some time to get the car running, including a carburetor rebuild and some work with the points. One fun event with a bad fast-idle setting caused the car to shoot fireballs from the carb. While that looked cool, the small fire that burned in the carb was not.

The car eventually made its one and only drive to a friends house near the Audubon High-School baseball field. It never started again, even with the effort of my friend who had a similar car. It eventually got towed back to the house (after most everyone at school found out it was mine and not working), and eventually sent to a junkyard. I remember keeping the rims form it though, they stayed in the parent’s basement until they moved out.
