C.E. Beck

C.E. Beck Robusto from Cuban Crafters

Another stoagie offered up from Cuban Crafters, and quite interesting with significantly different taste vs. aroma!

The taste has quite an enjoyable zing to it with a peppery nip at every puff…but it’s well tamed! It offers a nice layer to the very woody & tobacco taste & texture. Retrohaling gives you more of the woody, dry taste. It leaves a dry cocoa-powder taste on the tongue. Despite the zing the pepper gives you, it’s not overbearing and gives way to the other tastes without burning your mouth.

The aroma is an opposite, comprising of various sweet notes such at a creamy chocolate, a smooth herbal tobacco scent, and a subtle smoked-meat layer hiding underneath. I also find a slight liquorice scent to this, and some others that I can’t put my nose on. It’s very enjoyable.

This is a nicely layered cigar without the usual tastes. The sharp, zingy taste is nicely offset by the wonderfully complex aroma. Medium-bodied in my opinion, it’s a cigar to savor.
