Casa Fuente Double Robusto
Available only at the Vegas store in the Caeser’s mall, I enjoyed this with a Courvoisier XO on the balcony store front on a nice slow Vegas afternoon.
The cigar wasn’t clicking with me overall. The draw was perfect. Taste-wise (and before I hit the cognac), it was slightly harsh with an ever present dry-woody taste. There’s also a very present nutty-taste, but far on the blander-nutty side which offered up some variety to the woody side. A very tobaccony overtone remained present as well, and the cigar was overall consistent. Not a spicy cigar, but mildly harsh.
The aroma was a different story, offering up a more earthy and warmer experience than the taste. Some spicy notes tingled the nose, but nothing overpowering.
I enjoyed the time relaxing and enjoying the drinks with other smokers around, but the cigar itself wasn’t anything special to me. I do look forward to smoking the other store-only purchases I previously bought here in the near and long-term future. This is definitely a cigar smoker’s cigar.
