Don Pepin Garcia

Another cigar I was looking forward to trying while out here, and well worth the wait as it was an instant favorite.

The initial lighting and taste has a typical Cuban harshness to it that quickly fades off. This smoke has a very natural chocolaty taste and aroma, but not in the way the CAO Java is; this Pepin is more relaxed with that taste and natural occurring, not infused. But that’s just the stronger taste present, there’s a lot more to this fine cigar. A very subtle peppery note adds a nice presence to a herbal or gardeny taste, but not flowery or bouque’ish. A nut-bread aftertaste shows up halfway through, Yummy!

Overall I found the aroma and taste very well balanced, with only the chocolate being really pronounced. The aroma is highly enjoyable and contains nice assortment of discoveries. The draw was a little resistant and not effortless, complementing the well-roundedness of this cigar.

An instant favorite, albeit pricey, I will be picking more of these up.
