Flor de Oliva
One of a few budget daily smokes recommended by the fine folks in a thread I posted on puff.com looking for Oliva-sweet-like cigars at a lower price point. This was purchased from Famous Smokes, and it’s a huge winner.
The end tastes like it may have been sweetened or dipped; it’s very sugary, but I have not verified if this is the case. But, it’s mild and not too strong. Otherwise, the smoke is very light and easy going in the mouth, not hot, harsh or peppery. You have to retrohale to get a taste of dry woodyness, otherwise, the sugary-smoke melts in the mouth with a nice aftertaste.
The aroma is all Oliva goodness producing a highly enjoyable sweet-scent with some lighter tobacco mingling in. It’s not hot to the nose at all, and emits a natural sugary-sweetness just like the taste. Some notes of a chocolatey cocoa are found in the aroma as well.
For a cigar that sells around $35 for 20, this is truly an amazing find and just a great easy smoking sweet stick, and thankfully too, the price means it’s definitely going to be a regular daily-smoke for me. Looking forward to the maduro and 60 ring gauge versions!
