H. Upmann 1844 Monarch Tube

A friend purchased a used cigar box off of Craig’s List, which came with a sealed box of these H. Upmann Tubes, and he gave them to me for trade of a few Cohiba Siglo’s. Well worth it, this box has been aging for a while on its own, and now in my humidor. A year later, I tried one.

The cigar is just smooth and heavenly. It’s not harsh to the taste and without a peppery bite. The taste is like dry nuts, not too strong. The aroma is sweet and milky producing a nice cloud of smoke that isn’t too hot to the nose. There’s an overall note of Cedar perhaps coming from the cedar lining in the tube.

This Monarch was a very enjoyable, consistent smoke and overall mild on the taste and aroma, but full-bodied.
