My Uzi Weighs a Ton
While I’ve smoked two of these already since i purchased these pre-production stoagies by Drew Estate, I’m finally ready to review one after its aged some in the humidor nearly 4 months after its release in September.
The taste is fairly mild, perhaps light, and possesses little pepper to it if at all and isn’t hot or harsh to the mouth. The initial inhale delivers a cocoa-powdery sweetness (but not chocolaty) followed up by a little pepper and a nice smooth tobacco herbal quality with an overall mild dryness. Retrohaling surprisingly does not deliver a lot of the woody or dryness, but offers up more of the cocoa sweetness. The aftertaste is nice and lightly sweet with the herbal tones dissolving into a light sourness.
The aroma is surprisingly light as well with quite a lot to discover. While somewhat hot to the nose if inhaled too deeply, it’s spectrum ranges from a cocoa-powder sweetness, cinnamon, a herbal quality from the tobacco and other nuances in the rich earthy range.
Overall it’s a nice, light cigar that draws much smoother and lighter than you’d expect. The overall experience is a tobacco wrapped cocoa-sweetness which remains very consistent throughout the smoke.
Is it enjoyable? Yes, it is, but it’s not that interesting overall, and after smoking three of these, it doesn’t deliver anything unique to want to purchase more.
