Obsidian

Back at home after the vacation, enjoying the first cigar in the back yard at home. This cigar was part of a freebie pack from Cigar International.

Sweet nuts is probably not an appropriate way to describe a stoagie, but, there you go. The aroma is wonderfully rich with a sweet, creamy & nutty scent. It’s heavenly.

The taste, however, is definitely full, and bitey. I am not big on harsh, fiery and overly pepperly tastes. There is an underlying sweetness to this stick, but it’s overpowered by a harshness and strong peppery taste that, to me, isn’t that enjoyable.

So it contradicts itself by my tastes. I am enjoying it solely due to its magnificent aroma, which is a nice relief after a not very pleasing puff. It’s not exactly self torture, however.

I will check out their Padilla Obsidian and hope that it has the same rich aroma with a similar taste.

On an additional note, this cigar had the whitest ash I’ve seen burn on a cigar to date.
