Over two years in 1, 2, and 3 year old America oak capture and concentrate the essence of the three unique varietals, creating yet another vivid and full-bodied red wine, impossible to ignore.
Purchased at Frank’s Wine down the street from me, I was looking forward to a top-tier offering from this favorite wine producer.
The wine has only a mild oak taste to it compared to their other blend that I really enjoy. This is much more flavourful and complex, as there’s a lot to discover. It’s mildly sweet but bursting with a lot of various flavours, with a noticeable grape taste but unlike grape-juice. It has a slight hint of pepper which is far from overpowering. It’s a bit heavy & full on taste, making this better enjoyed slowly.
This is a good hearty wine, but I prefer the more smoky taste of their Essential Red for my palette.
